Hand Stamped Sentiments #390

It's time for another hand stamped sentiments challenge! This week we are taking on the new incolors. Beautiful and bright!

There is so much goodness with this new set of colors. My new favorite changes daily! I picked the paradise palms stamps and dies to create my card this week. I began with a fun layer of color for the background by using my water painter and starry sky, orchid oasis and tahitian tide refills on Fluid watercolor paper. I made a quick line of color and then without reloading the ink color made a few more lines of color. It really shows the different shades of each color with more water added. After it completely dried I used more ink to make splatter with my waterpainter and left over ink.

After inking the 3 palm trees with early espresso and evening evergreen I again used my waterpainter to add a swipe of water. After that dried I used a blending brush with a little balmy blue for the background. I love the palm dies, especially the lattice piece that I used on this card. That is die cut with orchid oasis as well as the base of the card and the layer with the gingham embossing folder. I finished off with a few of the iridescent rhinestones basic jewels. I am so obsessed with those that I am going to have to buy another pack soon!
I am so excited to see what you design with the new incolors! Don't forget to post it on the hand stamped sentiments blog. If you love the new incolors don't forget that you can purchase a tumbler in each and every one of the colors. Below is the starry sky tumbler. Which color do you want to order? Thanks again for stopping by! Have fun playing with the new incolors!

Sending Lots of Cards

If you want an all around great stamp bundle purchase the sending smiles bundle. It has everything you will need. Great images, amazing sentiments and dies that make it all easy! I made a bunch of cards for a friend and this bundle made my life so hassle free. What I loved the most was that I was able to make each card with a different greeting. Everything is covered; sympathy, birthday, encouragement, thanks and a general hello! I began stamping the flowers in different colors on basic white card stock. I wanted to play with giving the flowers a little extra dimension so I used my water color pencils and stampin' write markers to add some highlights. I love any chance to color and so this was so relaxing for me.

Using my blending brush and balmy blue I added a light layer of color and then stamped the leaves directly to the panel. I added some details to some of the leaves with water color pencils also. The flowers are adhered with stampin' dimensionals.

The assembly of the cards went very quickly. I am really loving this bundle! It is a must have for your crafting space. I could have made it even easier if I had stamped the "sending" on each card. However, I love the dimension that the die gives to the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this inspires you to create a set of cards for a friend for a gift, everyone can use cards! Have a great day!

Paradise Palms Watercolor Scene

Do you like making scene cards? I love it especially with watercolor. It is fun to create a story on my card front. For my story today it begins with an island with one lone palm tree from the paradise palm bundle. For many this would be paradise, away from all the chaos of the busy world. I created the scene with many of the stamps from the set and used my water painter to move the ink around after I stamped. For the water and sky I used my coastal cabana and balmy blue ink refill and water painter for a quick wash of color. The birds are from the waves of inspiration stamp set. I think they add a little tranquility to the scene. I finished it off with a encouraging sentiment from the paradise palms set.
The paradise palms bundle makes creating a scene so easy. Why not give it a try.  Create your own paradise and share it with someone. Thank you for letting me share mine with you today!

A Note of Thanks to Jennifer McGuire

Hello, so glad you are here. I am always so inspired by so many talented and creative stampers out there and today's card was inspired by one of the best, Jennifer McGuire! Her videos are always so well done, creative and she is great at explaining her process! And she always give so many wonderful examples. When I saw her video about creating texture without adding bulk I couldn't pass up trying it with the products I have.  This card was the first try and I am anxious to it this technique with many other dies I have. The process is very simple, using the paradise palms dies I die cut the palms from several different Stampijn' Up green colors. Then I glued them down to basic white cardstock. Let the glue dry completely and then using the stitched greenery die I ran through the entire panel. The die adds stitching to the dies and the paper. Love this look! I just added a sentiment with the amazing dies and part of a greeting from sending smiles. Did you notice on the "thanks" that I offset it so that it would look like a shadow?

Isn't this technique such a fun idea!  I can't wait to try it will other dies. I hope you give it a try and don't forget to check out Jennifer's blog. Thanks for joining me today! Have a blessed day!

Hand Stamped Sentiments #389

Hello! Happy Tuesday and a new hand stamped sentiments sketch challenge!  I love sketch challenges because I feel like so often I reach for layouts that I have used in the past. I am sure this sketch will inspire you to create!

For this card I used the artistic dies for the main image. Have you tried using one of your dies to create an embossed image? Normally, you use dies to cut images out but you can also use them to emboss rather than cut. You will have to check your embossing machine for the sandwich to use for this technique. After I embossed the image I used the white ink pad to swipe ink across so that the embossed part would stand out. The basic borders dies were used to create the banner look for the bottom of the piece.
Have you seen the new designer series paper in the new catalog? Stampin' Up has the most beautiful paper and this catalog does not disappoint. One of my favorite is the perfectly penciled paper. Black and white paper and so it is so easy to use! I used a piece behind my blushing bride cardstock.

The sentiment is from the sending smiles stamp set and die cut with waves dies. I finished it off with a white crinkled seam binding bow and a few iridescent jewels
I am so excited to see what you create with this sketch. I know there will be so many wonderful and inspiring cards! Make sure to post it on the hand stamped sentiments blog! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Perfectly Penciled Paper

Perfectly Penciled Paper, say that 3 times fast! That might be a tongue twister but using this paper is easy! Gorgeous pencil drawings on one side and fun graphic drawings on the other. Something for everyone and all in black and white, so you know it will go with everything! Using the layering circle dies I did a quick and easy spotlighting technique. I colored the designer series paper with my stampin blends, melon mambo and mossy meadow. Lined the images backup and mounted it with dimensionals. The greeting is white heat embossed on black cardstock from the artistically inked stamp set. To finish it off with a little extra I used my black stampin blend and colored a few pearls. Such a great idea if you need an accessory of a particular color.
Thanks for stopping by today. Order this paper today! You will use it on everything!
