Hand Stamped Sentiments #382

So excited to share this card that I made for the hand stamped sentiments new challenge! This is just the cutest little Volkswagon camper and who loves it in flirty flamingo? Even better is that it is a FREE saleabration stamp set, driving by. I am really having fun with ink blending with my blending brushes. Do you have them yet? They make coloring a large area so quick and smooth! I find the real tip is to use a gentle circular motion and to build up the colors. The other tip is if you are doing a gradual color change, to overlap the colors.

For the background I used post it tape roll which I got from amazon. It makes the masking part easy. So I started with a basic white cardstock piece cut at 5-1/2" x 4" I stamped the van with momento ink and then stamped again on a piece of the post it tape. I fussy cut out the van(on the post it tape) and placed it on top to keep from getting ink on the van. Then attached a piece of the post it across where I wanted the street to be. I ink blended with soft suede and early espresso near the bottom edge. Then I moved the post it tape and masked off the area for the sand. I added another strip of post it to keep from getting ink on the street that I just had ink blended. For this area I used crumb cake ink. Moving the masks again I used coastal cabana for the water. And the final area was the sky, I used balmy blue and pacific point on the outer edge. I kept the center light for a highlight. This all sound like a lot of work but it really isn't. Another tip, when you are moving the post it make sure the piece on the van doesn't come off.
I wanted a little texture and so using my dark and light crumb cake stampin blends I made little dots for the sand and then with the chalk marker I added white dots for the foam on the water and highlights for the sand.

Last I used my stampin blends to color the van, flirty flamingo and smoky slate. For the window I used crumb cake and balmy blue so that it would look like you were looking through the windows. I made highlights with my chalk marker. In the inspiration picture there are palm trees and I realized I didn't have any so I used the new horizon dies with in good taste dsp. I also stamped the sentiment on the same woodgrain paper and used the tasteful label dies to cut out. I used the circle from the tasteful label dies also with vellum for the piece behind the greeting. Using dimensionals to adhere the greeting.
I am hoping the inspiration board will inspire you to create today! The colors and images are so gorgeous! It gives so many options and I am really excited to see what you come up with. Have a great day and I hope to see your card at hand stamped sentiments!
