Smooshing Ink

Have you smooshed ink before? You may be asking yourself or me what is that? I take a few ink pads, this time I used calypso coral, daffodil delight and mint melody, swipe them horizontally across your silicone craft mat. Then spritz them gently with water and swipe a piece of shimmery cardstock or watercolor paper through the ink. Then let it dry. It is really a fun technique and looks different everytime. For my card I used the shimmery cardstock. When it was completely dry I stamped the garden wishes stamp set with staz on ink. A quick tip on how to tell if your paper is dry, if it is cool to the touch it is still wet. Many times you will look dry but not so by touching it you will be sure to know.
After I stamped the image using a water painter I added a little more color to the images.
I used the stitched rectangle dies to cut out the image. I stamped the greeting with versamark ink and white heat embossed and used the tailored tag punch to cut out. The you're a peach designer series paper was a perfect layer for behind this image. I also used the versamark to add a few stamps on the base of the card. Kind of hard to see them.

I wanted an element to pop off the card and so used a scrap from the smooshing to stamp the bee and attached him with a dimensional. Give the smooshing technique a try. It is really fun! If you have any questions let me know. Have a blessed week!
Don't forget if you would like the beyond the horizon paper pumpkin the deadline is March 10th!! That is tomorrow! Order now!
