Hello! What a great theme, flowers! I just had to play along with the Global Design Project Challenge. If you haven't already visit their blog to see what the amazing design team has created! My card was created with uniquely artistic, a stamp set that will be available May 3 in the new catalog. It is a gorgeous stamp set! I received it for free when I participated in a virtual event that Stampin' Up offered to demonstrators. If you are interested in being a demonstrator and getting perks like that, let me know!
I was inspired by a stamper Erum Tasneem. She is the most wonderful painter and colorist. I watched one of her videos where she colored her flowers with splattering the watercolors. So I gave that a try here. I white heat embossed the flowers and leaves and then wet the image and using my water painter splattered daffodil delight and calypso coral ink over the flower. (to splatter I used the cover of the water painter and flicked the ink onto the flowers and leaves) The colors blend beautifully because the image is wet. One thing she did mention is let it dry between layers or the colors will not have any variation. I can't wait to try this technique again. It was so fun!
The sentiment is from the Easter friends stamp set. I finished off the card with a few of the artistry blooms sequins. I can tell that I am going to be using this stamp set a lot! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the GDP blog!
