Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #393

Hi and welcome to a fun color challenge from hand stamped sentiments! Color challenges are always the most difficult for me. I think because I want to really challenge myself to use the colors in an unusual way. Today's card I knew I wanted to use the rays of light background stamp and I knew I wanted to watercolor, it is world watercolor month after all. So that is where my card began. I started by heat embossing (don't forget to use your embossing kit) the rays of light with white embossing powder on fluid watercolor paper, spritzed it with water and then applied highland heather and orchid oasis ink with a large water painter. The colors blended so lovely! ( I did make 2 panels, come back tomorrow to see that result).

I was not sure how to incorporate the coastal cabana into my design, so I thought of clouds. Waves of inspiration bundle has the most gorgeous cloud dies and so I originally die cut them with coastal cabana but it was to much. That is when I thought of using the shadow die with the coastal cabana. Keeping with the cloud theme I used the basic borders cloud die to cut a piece of highland heather and also white heat embossed the greeting from the waves of inspiration bundle. I finished off the card with a few iridescent rhinestone jewels, not sure I can make a card without them these days!
Check out the amazing group of designers over at hand stamped sentiments to see how they used these colors and then create your own card! I am so anxious to see what you create with this color combo. Try going outside the box and create purple clouds. It's your card and so have fun with it! I invite you to return to my blog tomorrow to see the other card I designed with this color combo.

  1. Oh my gosh, Patti, I have never considered heat-embossing this stamp - brilliant! The water coloring is just perfect - so many perfect details for our colors - gorgeous!
