Sunflower 3D Reverse

Today's card was a happy accident. I wanted to add ink to the Sunflower Embossing Folder, which I did but only to find out I put the ink on the wrong side. I didn't want to throw it away so I just thought I would go with it. The ink did get a little blotchy, but I am ok with that also. I like how the edges of the sunflower and leaves stayed white and really gave it nice highlights.

I added a sentiment from the retired rustic crate stamp set, a little linen thread and a few sequins.
Thanks for dropping in today! I hope you find joy out of creating with your happy accidents also! Don't throw them away, you can always make something good out of them!

Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder Shaker

I do love a shaker card, yet I hardly ever create them. Part of the reason is I think I am just too lazy. But when I do I quickly remember how fun they are! Today I started with the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder with Watercolor Paper. I spritzed the entire piece with clean water and then with a Water Painter I added ink. I was going for a messy watercolor look.

After it dried I flicked ink over the entire thing with the colors that I had watercolored with. To create the shaker I die 2 Textured Notes Dies and attached a window sheet to the top one, added my sequins and then put Foam Adhesive Strips around the edges and attached the second frame. Then I attached the entire piece to the card front.
I did mean to adhere the greeting inside the shaker part but forgot and so I added that afterwards.
I hope this inspires you to create a shaker card today! They truly are so fun to make!

Fun with the Sketch

Today's card I used the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge Sketch but put a little twist on it.
I began with a piece of watercolor paper and ink smooshed Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue. It created a soft green that I really liked. I used the Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder on it. Then I used my brayer and Night Of Navy Ink to lightly apply the ink to the raised edges.

For the twist I used a piece of Night Of Navy Cardstock but rather than cutting it straight I cut at a diagonal. I added a bow with White Baker's Twine and a few Holographic Dots. For the greeting I used retired sentiment and die cut with Textured Notes Dies.
Have a great day!

Sketch Challenge

I have another fun idea for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge. I had a few items on my desk that are either retired or on the last chance section, so I decided to create a card with them. Memorable Blooms Stamp Set was used to watercolor the flower for the focal point. I used the Textured Notes Dies to cut it out. The background paper is Beautiful Bokeh DSP.
I also used the So Swirly for the layered piece and the greeting is from the Thankful Garden Bundle.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this has inspired something for you!

Hand Stamped Sentiments #467

It is time for a sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments! I love a fun sketch idea and I will be sharing a few ideas in the next couple of days. The first I have uses some items from a past paper pumpkin. The flower and bee are die cuts from an older kit.

I combined that with the Textured Notes Dies and Perfectly Plaid Embossing Folder. I die cut 2 of the rectangle pieces and used stampin' dimensionals to raise the border. I also used the new Holographic Dots. ( I love these because they go with everything)
Thanks for sopping by, I hope you are inspired to create with this sketch and I can't wait to see what you make!

Sunflower Watercolored

I am really loving this big and bold Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder! Are you tired of seeing it yet? There are just so many things you can do with it! Today I watercolored it on watercolor paper after running it through my emboss and die machine. I did a few layers of color with a water painter and ink refills. After it had dried completely I flicked White Ink and Pecan Pie Ink for some fun splatter. After that dried I ran it through my embossing machine again to really make the images pop right off the page.

Not sure why I was having such a hard time getting a good picture of this. In person it is really so lovely! I used Neutral Adhesive Sequins (so sad they are on the last chance list, I have gone through 3 packs of them) They are greatly discounted so get them while you can!
I am sure you will see this sunflower many more times soon!

Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder

Happy 4th of July to all of you in the US! Today I do not have a red, white and blue card, sorry. But I do have a fun new item to share!
Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder is my favorite new item in the Online Exclusives. I love how affordable it is and all the possibilities it has to offer. You will see many ideas that I came up with in the next couple of weeks. For the first card I couldn't wait to color with stampin blends.
I started with a piece of Basic White Cardstock and ran it through my emboss machine with the Sunflower EF. Then I used Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake stampin' blends to color the images.  I used watercolor pencils to add a little extra dimension and depth. I used the Wanted to Say Dies for the sentiment and a few sequins to add a little bling.

For some reason this picture looks a little washed out. The true colors are really from the first picture. Thanks for stopping by today. Let me know what is your favorite item from the new Online Exclusives?

More Woven Textures with Notes & Totes

Notes & Totes Bundle again! I am sure you are tired of seeing all the cards that I have created with these dies! I just couldn't help myself! Especially with the Woven Textures DSP! They are the perfect complement to each other!
I had a few pieces of watercolor paper that were colors that I thought would look nice for flowers in the tote. Lately I have been using many of my retired products, especially the dies. I think it is great to use the products that we have purchased. Why let cute products just sit in the drawers of our craft space? Use what you have. If you don't have the item that I use, use what you have that you like!
Enjoy and have a blessed day!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #466

Time for a Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge! I thought about using flowers for my card but realized I have done a lot of flowers lately and so I used the retired Hot Air Balloon Stamps and Dies. At the time I posted this it was still on the last chance list. I love this set!
For the background I used a large acrylic block and smooshed coastal cabana and granny apple green ink. Then spritzed it with water and placed on watercolor paper. I still had ink on the block and so I created 2 more backgrounds. For the balloons I did a combination of either the same technique or used watercolor paper that I had smooshed with water and ink. I was able to create 3 cute cards from all the playing that I did.

The holographic dots really went nice with this color palette.

I also did a little white heat embossing for some of sentiments and the balloon.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have time to play with this fun color combo!

Thinking of You!

I love a brown and blue combination! For my card today I used the Notes and Totes Bundle and the Perfectly Plaid Embossing Folder for this adorable little bag. I had a few scraps of leaves from the Thankful Garden Dies and colored them with my Stampin' Blends. I placed it all on an Everyday Arch Die and finished with a scarf created with a retired dsp.

Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me! Have a blessed day!

Personalized Notes and Totes Bag

Notes & Totes Bundle again! Today I created my own personalized tote! This would make really cute thank you cards as a gift. I wanted to make it a beach bag and so I used some of the shells from the bundle as well as a retired stamps and dies set. I had so much fun filling the bag with shells.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Baby Notes & Totes

My card for today is for a baby shower. I used the Notes & Totes Dies to create an adorable gift bag for a bag. I filled it with the Cutest Onesie Stamps and Dies. I used a few retired items, the embossing folder on the tote as well as the head band and greeting. I wanted to give the illusion of tissue paper and so I used vellum paper that I colored with silver and gold paint pen. I used the Textured Notes Die for the background piece.
I hope this inspires you to create with a theme in mind! Have fun!
