Floating by to say "hi"

It feels so good to be back stamping. When I go many days without it I get so sad! I made this background a while ago. I started by practicing a watercolor wash on watercolor paper. I used night of navy for this. After it dried I ran it though with the high seas embossing folder and finished the panel with the largest of rectangle stitched frames.

I stamped the walrus in momento ink on smoky slate card stock and used the white watercolor pencil to add a few highlights. I added a few sprays of white ink on the background for a little extra added texture.  Thank you for stopping by and for having patience with my lack of blogging.

Thanks BIG time!

Thanks BIG time for all of you! I appreciate the time you take out of your day to check out the cards that I create. I would love you to introduce yourself when you stop by. A little about myself, I am a Catholic wife and mother of 4 amazing children and one beautiful daughter in law, plus 2 crazy dogs! Oh and who can forget my sweet husky puppy grand dog.  I have been stamping for over 22 years and been a Stampin Up demonstrator for over 21 of those years. I love stamping and pretty much anything with paper, ink, paint, etc. all things crafty! I am originally from Minnesota and came out to Southern California for college (go USC Trojans!)and met my husband and we ended up staying in Southern Cal. Basically that is my life in a nutshell. Now on to the card. What you really came here to see.

This little walrus set is so adorable! Doesn't this guy just make you want to smile? I decided to try a watercolor wash for the background and I really like the way that it has turned out. Colored the walrus with stampin blends. and kept the assembly of the card pretty simple.  Thanks again for stopping by! Below check out some of the specials going on now. Have a blessed day!

Only a few days left to order this kit. Feb 10th is the deadline.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Walrus joins the bonanza buddies

Does this walrus just make you want to smile? It sure does me. So I thought why not combine him with the balloons, hat and sentiment from the bonanza buddies stamp set. I stamped all images with momento ink pad so that I could color them with my stampin blends.  I did a little watercolor wash on a piece of watercolor paper to help anchor my little guy. When it dried I added a few of the pompom stamp to the watercolor area just to give it a little more texture.

I fussy cut out the balloons and sentiment, added a few sequins to finish the card. Let me know which stamps set you like to combine. I think it is fun to put sets together and makes my product more versatile.
