Fall Trees

Is anyone else ready for fall? I love everything about fall;  the colors, the smells, the food and the nice cool weather! When I was looking at my evergreen forest embossing folder and I wanted to create a fall card (not quite ready for Christmas cards). I rubbed my daffodil delight ink pad and my cameo coral on the side of the embossing folder that is flat so that the trees would be embossed white. I placed a piece of watercolor paper in the folder and lightly spritzed the ink and ran it through the embossing machine. When I pulled the paper out, I cleaned it with a baby wipe. The ink cleaned up nicely. When I looked at it I really wanted the trees to be green and not white and so I gently rubbed my old olive and mossy meadow ink pads across the raised edges of the trees. I really liked the look that it gave. I then sprinkled some water with my fingers (to get really nice big drops) on the panel, let it dry a few minutes and then blotted it with a paper towel.

I kept the card pretty simple with a greeting from the one happy family stamp set. This set has such adorable greetings! I die cut it with the tasteful label dies and finished with a sprinkling of brushed metallic dots. Try using your product in some way that it was not intended, like I did for the tree embossing folder. Let me know what uses you have found that are unusual.  Have a great day!
