Hi! So glad you have taken your time to check out my blog. Today's card was created using the fun sketch over at the TGIF challenges. Go visit there blog to see what the talented designers have made. I knew I wanted to use the new fun cork paper, what a fun way to add texture to a card. Using the sunflower dies for the focal point of my card, I started with a piece of fluid watercolor paper I put down some water and added some fall color ink refills with my water painters to apply the ink. After it dried I die cut the large outline of the flower and then with the outline die cut with so saffron card stock.
I cut the stripes of cork and then also used it for the center of the flower as well as stamped the greeting from the celebrate sunflower stamp set. I just used the word thanks from the greeting. I die cut that with layering hugs dies. I don't know about you but I always get to nervous cutting out small sentiments, so using a die after I stamp ensures that they will cut straight (well most of the time). After I die cut the leaves I used my blending brushes to add a little extra color to the edges. I may have not followed the sketch exactly but I think that is the fun of a sketch, it gets your creativity going and who knows where that will lead you.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day!
Don't forget to order you peaceful Christmas paper pumpkin.
