New InColors

Hello! Just a quick post today to share with you a quick card I created with the new incolors. I have not gotten the ink pads, markers or blends yet so I thought I would play with the paper.  It all goes together so nicely! I used the flower die from the wild rose die set. Using the old world paper embossing folder on white paper behind the flowers I thought added a little texture.  This embossing folder is really fun.

The sentiment is a quick white embossed from the celebrate sunflowers stamp set. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate coming by. Have a blessed day!

Wild card

Hi! I hope you are having a great week and that you are staying healthy! The wild rose stamp set makes such beautiful cards. Today I used the technique of stamping the second layer of roses with mambo melon and spritzed it with water. Then stamp the image onto watercolor paper.  One hint I have is that it is best to leave the stamp on the paper a few extra seconds to really let the water and color do its job and then just let it dry flat. The results are always different. I did the same with the leaves using pool party for the ink.  After they all dried I used the dies to cut out the images.

I really liked this dsp from the lily impressions pack and thought it went really well with the flower. (This paper is FREE with a $50 order)  I love the detail in the paper to make it look like paint on a canvas. So fun! Finished this card off with a beautiful greeting and mounted it all on a piece of thick whisper white card stock. Let me know what you think of this technique and if you have tried it? Have a beautiful day and I hope to be back soon!

Fab Friday #171 Sketch

Fab Friday has a great classic sketch for this weeks challenge and I love the designers take on it.  It is amazing how everyone sees something different when they look at a sketch. I knew when I saw it that I wanted to use one of the layers with the long flower die from the wild rose dies.

I also couldn't help using a piece of the bird ballad dsp, my favorite dsp right now. But we will see if that changes when my holiday catalog order arrives. I am so excited to see all the fun new papers I ordered. If you have not received a holiday catalog let me know and I will send you one! You will love all the fabulous items!

Give this fun sketch a try over at the fab Friday site today! Enjoy and have a beautiful weekend! Thank you for visiting my blog and come back soon!

Try something new!

I love the flower and leaf dies that are in the wild rose die set so I decided to make them the star for this card. I wanted the color to  pop through the dies and so I watercolored with my ink refills and aquapainter the background. I started by placing the dies where I wanted them to go and then added the color.

The first layer of color was so pretty and I was really excited to see what the card would look like when done. I placed my dies on top and decided that I wanted to add another layer of color and make some areas a little bigger. I also added some of the seaside spray to the background to add even more dimension.

Look how pretty is this.  I thought of just keeping this without the dies but decided to make the card the way that I had planned.

The sentiment is from the inspiring iris stamp set.  I really love this sentiment and I am sure you have noticed because I use it all the time!

I wonder if I had made the die pieces with colored card stock how that would look.  Something to try in the future. I love to try new things. How about you? Sometimes you can come up with something that works and sometimes it just doesn't work.  I keep trying to tell myself that it is all just paper and ink. Try something new today and let me know what it is and if you like it. Enjoy!
