Coloring on crumb cake card stock

A simple card with a little coloring is what I have for you today.  A one layer card that I stamped with momento black ink on crumb cake card stock and used colored pencils. I even kept the colors to a minimum.  I used white and yellow.

I put the white in the areas that I thought would be highlighted and then a pop of color with the yellow. A card does not have to take you a long time. This card would be so easy to mass produce and have on hand. You could even wait to stamp the sentiment and stamp it for the occasion that you need.  Enjoy!

For every $50 spent in the month of July you will receive a code to cash in $10 free to use in the month of August!  Don't miss out and order by end of July! Let me know if you have any questions.

Bird at the beach

I hesitate to post this card. I am not really sure that I like the way that it turned out, but then I thought maybe someone would see it and could tell me how I could have made it better. So I would love any comments you would have!

I stamped the scene with versamark and then white heat embossed the entire thing. I then attempted to watercolor the picture. That is what I am not too fond of. I think that the watercoloring it a little flat and I don't know where it went wrong.  I tried to go in with some watercolor pencils to add some contrast. I think that helped a little bit but still not my best work.

Please give me advice on what you think. Also, note that my sailboats are stamped crooked and I tried to work with that as well.  I was not gonna give up on this card.  I think that it is a great idea to post cards that we don't think are our best. What do you think? So maybe someone out there but like this card, or maybe not. But it is what I produced today and I know that I learned things in the process and most important just enjoyed the time I spent creating! Isn't that why we do art? Have a fabulous day and go create your own work of art, whatever that may be. Enjoy!

Sweet Baby

Finally, I have had some free time to create with my new goodies from the Stampin' Up new catalog! Sometimes I find that it is overwhelming when I get all kinds of new things and don't know where to begin. However, I fell in love with the new Sweet Baby set right away. The images as well as the font used for the greetings are so adorable and I always love an excuse to do some coloring. I started by stamping the images with my staz on black ink pad on shimmer paper so that I could do use my watercolor pencils and then I stamped the images on white cardstock with my memento pad so that I could do some coloring with my stampin blends. (I am so excited for the new colors to be released soon- I will let you know as soon as I find out) I find it so relaxing to color and so I took my images and sat outside enjoying the beautiful California weather and began to color. I like to cut out all my images at once and then create my card.

Aren't these images so adorable! I CASE(d) the card in the catalog for my first card, page 89. When I first saw this bundle I did not notice the cute lace trim in the framelits. I will be using that for many cards in the future!  It is so pretty! The new 6 x 6 designer series paper is also a must have!  Who can resist polka dots and stripes!  I used the neutral pack for this card because I wanted it to match the jumper for the baby. Since I have not used my watercolor pencils in a while, I decided to pull them out with my blender pen for a soft baby look.

I hope you enjoy this card! If you or anyone you know is having a baby soon let me know. I would love to send them a card. Just leave me a message and I will get back to you. If you would like to order the sweet baby bundle to receive your 10% discount let me know.  Have a beautiful day and I will share more sweet babies soon!
