Friendship is a blessing!

Hello and so glad you are here!  I am posting a bright and sweet little card that I made with a few different stamp sets and supplies. I started to design this card around the sentiment. I really love this sentiment  from the so sentimental stamp set. Other supplies that I used were, stitched so sweetly dies, pinewood planks embossing folder, flowers from the free as a bird stamp set, bird ballad dsp and stampin blends to color the flowers.

I know that is a really long list of different products. It was just one of those cards that just kept evolving.

I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and curled the flowers to give a little added dimension.  You can't go wrong with any of the elements on this card.

All together I think the result is a beautiful card to send to a special friend! I would love to sent that card to YOU!  Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you come back soon!

GDP #231

Hi and welcome to my blog! For today's project I decided to join the current challenge at the Global Design Project blog. Check them out here! I made a card with the free as a bird bundle as my flutter and fly. I love to color and since the 30 day color challenge is going on I have been wanting to color a little each day. With all the craziness going on right now (hope you are staying healthy) coloring is great way to de-stress. I colored these cute little birds with stampin blends.

For the background I used the high seas embossing folder to make clouds. I used the opposite side of the paper after running it through and then swiped the card stock with a little balmy blue.

I used the bird ballad dsp for the other corner of the card.

I tied a little knot with a small piece of braided linen thread.  Thank you for stopping by, don't forget to check out the global design project blog and see all the amazing designers projects. If you are new to my blog I would love to hear from you and please stop by again! Have a great day and stay healthy!

The world needs more of You!

Do you love designer series paper?  I love it, however I am not always sure how I want to use it or like a lot of people don't want to cut it up.  Well I finally got the courage to cut some of this paper and make it the main focus of my card. This is the new peaceful poppies dsp. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful! The sentiment that I used is from the free as a bird stamp set. With so many negative things that we hear now a days, I think it is important to recognize the people in our lives that make a difference.

The sentiment is cut out with the stitched label dies.  Another big hit besides the paper are the from my heart faceted gems!  Look at the shine! They are available in 3 different sizes and colors!  All so gorgeous! If you follow my blog you will see a lot more of these! Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Sunday stampers challenge

Surprise! I didn't use the bonanza buddies stamp set! Yes, I decided to switch it up a little today and use a set that I have not used in a while, tea together stamp set. I love to color and this gave me a great chance to play with my stampin blends. I also used a few strips of the new best dressed dsp. This paper is so lovely! So soft and sweet. I thought that is went well with a piece of the bird ballad dsp. (something else that had not been used in a while) This sketch from the Sunday stampers really is a terrific layout! Make sure to check out what the design team did below.

I had so much fun making this card. I love the color palette of this dsp. I needed a thank you card and so I added a small thank you to the middle of the cup from the free as a bird stamp set. I thought this font went really well the card.

Thank you for stopping by and taking your time to look at my card. I really appreciate all of your encouragement and kind words.  Have a blessed week!

Water color birds

Its a good day when I get to watercolor! I really love watching what the way the color moves through the water. The hard part for me is trying to figure out what exactly it will do.  I guess that comes with experience. I find that an easy way to watercolor is when I heat emboss and drop in the color.  Ever since I purchased this stamp set I have wanted to watercolor these birds!

When I first started the colors were so light especially when they dried. (when watercolor drys it lights considerably!)I wanted a strong line of color on the edges of these birds and so I had to add a few layers of color. I also added a few layers of balmy blue to make the entire scene stand out. Let me know what you think I could do to make this painting even better.  I feel something is missing but I do not know what that is.  Thank you for checking out my card! Have beautiful, colorful day! Enjoy the blessings of the day!

Need a new trimmer?  This is the one to get! If you have any questions let me know.

I great suite to make wonderful Christmas cards and gifts! Let me know what questions you might have.

Global Design Project #205

Do you ever feel like you get in the same color rut?  I do and so when I saw the color challenge over at the GDP I decided to give it a try. Color challenges have always scared me. I am not really sure why. Maybe because sometime it is a color combo out of my comfort zone. So I am really excited that I did this one.

                                                                Check out their blog!

I used stampin' blends for my coloring of these adorable little birds, in what I like to call the highlighting technique. I stamped the image with momento black ink then die cut it with the stitched nested labels. Then I used the smallest of the circles in the stitched shapes die for the center part. As you can tell I was really into all my stitched dies, I also used the largest rectangle for the mint macaron layer.

Not really sure that there are birds this color in real life but since it is my work of art I took liberty of creative license on this one. Make some time this weekend and give the color challenge a try.  It also helps to pull you out of creative ruts. (Which I also have been having lately)
Keep in your prayers all those affected by hurricane Dorian!  All those in the Bahamas that are without there families and homes. Also to all those on the East Coast of the US I am keeping you in my prayers for safety! It is times like these that I am so grateful for all the family and faith that I have. God bless you all!

Making a Monochromatic Card

Making a card monochromatic is so pleasing to the eye.  It has a calming effect when it is one color with a few neutrals. Today I have made a card with Mossy Meadow. This color is such a beautiful shade of green!

I stamped the leaves from the to a wild rose set in momento ink and colored with my stampin blends. The bird I had colored a few days ago and thought he would be really cute on these branches of leaves. Keeping the card very clean and simple. I think I tend to gravitate to this style of cards.

Well August is almost over and I have been anxiously awaiting for the holiday catalog to go live!  You will want so many of the adorable things in the catalog! My list is so long! They have 2 hostess sets that are so adorable, you will want to host a party or combine your own orders for both of them. If you would like to host a party or if I can help you with your own order let me know. Also if you have not received a holiday catalog and would like one let me know and I would be happy to mail one to you! Enjoy!

Birds!

I am so crazy about birds right now.  I love all the different colors that God has created them. Lately I have been looking so closely at them on walks and online. I also love the way that many crafters color on crumb cake color card stock and grey card stock, not just white anymore.

My coloring with pencils is a constant challenge, but I keep practicing. It is really important to color softly and in layers. I really enjoy how relaxing it is.
Don't forget if you would like to sign up to be a demonstrator to let me know or even if you have any questions.  I would love to answer any questions you may have. Have a great day! Enjoy!

Light and fluffy clouds

I needed a box for a small gift and so I turned to the cute little pizza boxes from Stampin' Up! I love the cute shape and the convenience of them already to use, just a few simple folds and you have the box assembled. I had colored, with my stampin blends, this bird a few days ago and thoughts it was the perfect size to go on my box.

After I had put the box together I realized that the upper left corner needed something. I tried a sentiment and many other things but it all was just too much. I had the idea to add a few clouds but wasn't sure how. I did not want to add embossing paste because I thought that would also be to heavy for that corner. Then I had the idea to use my cloud stencil with my colorless blender. I loved it!

Because the colorless blender pushes the color over and makes it lighter the cloud effect was beautiful and just what I wanted, light and fluffy clouds. I am sure that I am not the first person to think of this idea but, I was really excited when I did. I know that the photos are not the best, I tried to get the best shot that I could. I finished the box with using dimensionals on the flowers and the enjoy banner from the country home stamp set.

I kept the box pretty simple other than the main panel. Sometimes you have to look through your supplies and see what might work. Remembering that it is only paper and you can try over if you don't like the results.  You might come up with a result that you are really happy with, like I did today. I would love to hear what things you have discovered while creating. I hope you give my clouds a try. I think that you will really like them. I know that I will try this again with other images and see what other  results I can come up with. Let me know what you think of my pizza box?  Enjoy!

Only a few days left to both of these deals.  Let me know if you need any help or have any questions!
