Toucan party

Hi and so glad you stopped by today!  Thank you for taking time out to see what I have created today.  I have been playing with my new birthday bonanza bundle again. It has so many options and I keep coming up with new ideas. For today's card I had to use this cute little toucan. I punched out a starburst piece of the designer series paper from this suite to create a backdrop for my little guy.

I kept the rest of the card pretty simple by adding a birthday hat in same colors as his nose.  After stamping them in daffodil delight I colored over them with the calypso coral watercolor pencil. This set has some great sentiments that are perfect for any age birthday card you may need. Thank you again for checking out my blog and I hope you come back soon to see another stamped idea.

Almost Thanksgiving!

Just a quick post today! I am sure you are busy getting ready for Thanksgiving and so I wanted to thank you for stopping by today! I had die cut a bunch of leaves from the gather together dies and wanted to make a card with them. I love the texture in the gather together DSP and the texture on the leaves is also beautiful!

I added some of the wink of stella pen in the grooves of the leaves. This really made them pop and shine!

For the sentiment I white heat embossed on black card stock. Using the large rectangle stitched die I cut out the dsp. Fun, quick and simple card! Just in time to give to someone for Thanksgiving! Have a great day and thanks again for stopping by!

Freshly Made Sketches #412

I have been really in a stamping slump lately and so when I find that happens I like to check out all the challenges that I know about. What do you do? So for this sketch I think I really stretched the original sketch. This is such a great sketch and the possibilities are endless with it!

I like to color when I am not feeling very creative and so the country home stamp set is a great set to color. I used my stampin blends for the coloring of this project and used my chalk marker to make a few high lights. I used the sentiment from the painted harvest stamp set and embossed it in gold on black card stock.

I would love to know what stamp challenges you like to visit! Thank you for stopping by today and have a wonderful and blessed day!

Just add ink challenge #482

I know with the Christmas season quickly approaching that I will have to put away my fall colors, so I am taking advantage of every last minute to play with them. For today I played along with the Just Add Ink challenge! I added a lot of elements to this card, but I just couldn't help myself.

Typically I like to keep my cards pretty simple and clean, yet this card just keep evolving! I stamped the flowers from the floral essence stamp set and used watercolored pencils ( without water) to add a little shading. I love how Kathy Racoosin from the daily marker challenge uses pencils to enhance her stamped images. (Her work is amazing!) Check her out here https://www.thedailymarker.com/

The greeting is from the free as a bird stamp set and I think it is such a beautiful thing to say to so many people in my life. I used some of the leaves from the gather together bundle and shimmery crystal effects for the center of the flowers, however it really I did not take a good photo to show it. Don't miss out on the sale going on right now with Stampin' Up and if you do not have a demonstrator I would love to help you. Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

So thankful!

Being thankful is such a great feeling! I am so thankful for so many things in my life and when I think about the long list I feel so wonderful! I have been blessed with so much in my life! I think that is why I love to make fall cards because they focus so much on being grateful. One of the things that comes to mind is all the wonderful friends I have made through my Stampin' Up journey for almost 21 years now. And I am so excited about all the new friends that crafting will bring into my life in the future.
When I first saw this set in the holiday catalog I knew it would be on the list of sets to buy. I love sets that have a purpose for more than one occasion. This set is called beauty and joy. Another thing that I like about this set is that it is affordable, selling for only $16 in the US. All of the elements in the set are individual stamps so you can create them in a variety of ways.
This is the first card I have made with this set. I used the fall leaves and cut a few of them out for a little extra dimension. The hardest part of the whole card was cutting tiny pieces of foam dots to go under the itty bitty leaves.
If you are interested in this stamp set or any other from the new holiday catalog or the annual catalog let me know! I would love to have you join me in creating for those you love! I do appreciate you visiting my site and all the love that you send with your comments. Have  a beautiful week and enjoy!

Only a few days to take advantage of this great deal!  Don't miss out!

Global Design Project #205

Do you ever feel like you get in the same color rut?  I do and so when I saw the color challenge over at the GDP I decided to give it a try. Color challenges have always scared me. I am not really sure why. Maybe because sometime it is a color combo out of my comfort zone. So I am really excited that I did this one.

                                                                Check out their blog!

I used stampin' blends for my coloring of these adorable little birds, in what I like to call the highlighting technique. I stamped the image with momento black ink then die cut it with the stitched nested labels. Then I used the smallest of the circles in the stitched shapes die for the center part. As you can tell I was really into all my stitched dies, I also used the largest rectangle for the mint macaron layer.

Not really sure that there are birds this color in real life but since it is my work of art I took liberty of creative license on this one. Make some time this weekend and give the color challenge a try.  It also helps to pull you out of creative ruts. (Which I also have been having lately)
Keep in your prayers all those affected by hurricane Dorian!  All those in the Bahamas that are without there families and homes. Also to all those on the East Coast of the US I am keeping you in my prayers for safety! It is times like these that I am so grateful for all the family and faith that I have. God bless you all!

Perennial flower punch

I am so in love with this new punch and coordinating stamp! I know I have used it a lot lately, and I am hoping you like the ideas that I have some up with.  Most of them are pretty basic and easy but I think that is what I like most.  Quick and easy!

I love to white heat emboss images and watercolor them! These images took me no time because they are so small. I stamped them a few times with versamark ink and then embossed them on watercolor paper. I used mostly bermuda bay ink and pool party for the flower colors. Every time I use bermuda ink and paper I wonder why I don't use it more often. I love the color!

For the leaves I decided to stamp the same flower on pear pizzazz. For the card base I used bermuda and swiped my white ink pad across it for a subtle look.  I love this technique. If is kind of hard to see it in my pictures but in person it looks so soft and pretty. The greeting is from the free as a bird stamp set and the die I used to cut that out is from the stitched label dies. This die set has great dies for sentiments. If you have not gotten this bundle yet, I would highly suggest it! The price is affordable and you can use it in so many different ways.  Let me know what you have done with this bundle.  Enjoy!

All days are beautiful!

The card I have made today I finally got the chance to use the stitched die that I cut out the other day. I don't know about you but I keep all my scraps, some may say I keep too much! I love to use them in creative ways. Although today's way is not that creative, I think that it turned out really cute!  Below is the card that I cut the die out.

The bird ballad designer series paper is so pretty! I have such a hard time cutting it up! But then when I make a card with it, I am so happy that I did cut it.

I really wanted to keep this card simple because the paper is kind of busy.  The perennial essence stamp set has a simple flower that when stamped in the calypso coral looked great.

I stamped the greeting and the leaves before I ran the piece through the big shot with my subtle embossing folder. This folder is good for when you want to add texture but not to much busyness.  Keep your scraps and you will never know what you can create with them! Enjoy!
