Luck of the Irish

Hi and welcome to another watercolor Wednesday! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today's card was inspired by an artist that I really love her work, You and your big dreams,Kelly Latevola Taylor. Check out her blog and videos for great coloring and storytelling. I started with a piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper, stamped the flowers and leaves from floral essence stamp set with black stazon ink (this ink will not bleed when water is applied). I wet the entire panel and then just dropped in ink with my water painter.

When adding color remember that the color will dry much lighter than when it is wet but you can always add more color if needed. I love how when the colors are wet they bleed into each other and create beautiful colors.

I wanted the colors a little more intense and so I used my stampin blends when the watercolor paper had dried completely. Kelly does this often and so I wanted to try it. I really can't compare my work to hers, but I did like the idea. I also added some little dots to give the centers a little more added texture.

Thank you so much for spending some time with me! I really appreciate any comments you may have. Have a wonderful day!

So Cool!

Simple Sunday

Hello! I have not done a Simple Sunday card in a while and so I thought that I would do one today. Did you remember to set your clocks ahead? I feel like with the digital world we have so fewer clocks to change, they do it all automatically.
For today's card I started with a base of whale of a good time dsp cut with the rectangle stitched largest die. This paper is so cute! You really need so little to go with it, a greeting and you are set.

For the greeting I used the friends are like seashells stamp set which I white heat embossed on crumb cake card stock. I had a little scrap of braided linen thread that I tied in a knot and frayed the ends. In this picture there are little dots in the bottom part and I am not sure why that is. Thanks again for stopping by. Have a blessed Sunday and keep it simple!

TGIF challenge

Hello! My card today was inspired by the TGIF challenge and wow was it a challenge. I find that card challenges really make my creativity spark. This color challenge was way out of my comfort zone. Colors that I would never had put together and I found it so fun to give it a shot.

I started with celebrate sunflowers bundle and using gorgeous grape card stock white heat embossed the large sunflower. Using the dies in the bundle I die cut the flower, the leaves in just jade card stock and the outline of the flower in daffodil delight card stock. The background layer is pinewood planks 3D embossing folder, I have to say that I love this folder. One of my favorites!

The greeting was stamped in early espresso ink on basic white card stock that I fussy cut. I added a small bow behind to add a little more texture. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you give this challenge a try. You will be surprised at what you will come up with. Have a blessed day!

Check out the new mouthwatering paper pumpkin! You won't want to miss this!

Watercolor Hugs

Hi and welcome to another watercolor Wednesday! This week is a quick and easy watercolor greeting. I white heat embossed the so sentimental stamp set on a piece of fluid 100 watercolor paper and then wet the area around the sentiment. Using my water painters i dropped in color with seaside spraybalmy blue and highland heather ink refills.

After it dried completely I used my stitched shape dies to cut out the circle. I keep forgetting about the new stitched with whimsy dies, not sure why because when I use them I fall in love all over again. They add just great texture and no bulk to the card.

I stamped the country home watering can and flowers with versamark ink on seaside spray card stock. If you think versamark is only good for embossing, think again. It makes a great subtle watermark look on paper. Try it sometime.

This card is simple yet I love how the greeting really stands out and makes a statement. Thanks for joining me today. Don't forget to order your paper pumpkin today if you would like to receive the FREE stencil pack! This month only!

Seashell Friends

Hello and welcome! My card today is a fun monochromatic pacific point shell card. I stamped the friends are like seashells with black staz on ink on fluid 100 watercolor paper.  I added a quick wash of pacific point ink refill with my water painter. At the same time I created the background with the same water color paper and a quick wash of color.

I white embossed the greeting on black paper and cut in a small strip. For the strip behind I ink blended with blending brushes and pacific point ink on white cardstock, then ran through the stampin emboss machine with the seabed embossing folder. Then gently rubbed it with sandpaper.

I finished the card off with a few whale of a time sequins. Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget my watercolor Wednesday. Have a blessed day!

Blessed!

This card was inspired by a technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog. She did a fun idea of applying ink to paper, running it through with a embossing folder and then lightly sanding it. I LOVE how it turned out! I used the new blending brushesdainty diamond embossing folder and a retired sanding block. This gives such a fun result and looks like you spent so much time, but it really is very quick.

The wild rose stamp set and wild rose dies were used for the main images. A few branches from the forever gold laser cut paper and holiday rhinestones for a little extra bling!

I can't wait to try this technique again! Check out Jennifer McGuire Ink for lots of great ideas! Have a blessed and wonderful day!

Seashell by the seashore

Hello! So glad you are here! Thank you for spending your time visiting my blog!

Today's card is a fun card created with the friends are like seashells and whale of a time dsp and seabed embossing folder. I love all the under the sea theme items currently available. I white heat embossed the shell and watercolored like the card yesterday.

Then with the seabed embossing folder and piece of vellum I ran through my machine. The vellum with the embossing folders is really a fun effect.

I also white heat embossed the greeting and cut into a thin strip.  A small scrap of braided linen twine slightly pulled apart to fray the ends. This card is so bright and cheery it really makes me so happy. I hope you enjoyed it! Have a blessed day!

Watercolor Wednesday

Hi Friend! I am so glad you are here. Today's watercolor Wednesday is a simple way to watercolor. Simply white heat emboss and add your color. I used water painters on shimmery white paper to add color with my ink refills. The stamp set is friends are like sea shells bundle.

I wanted just the shells to be the stand out on this card and so I used the seashell embossing folder on white card stock. After I attached the background layer I added the shells with stampin dimensionals and the greeting was stamped in calypso coral and using the stitched so sweetly dies.

Finished off with a few flower for every season gems. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back next week for another watercolor Wednesday. Have a blessed day!
