Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  Can you believe 2020! Seems like just yesterday it was turning 2000. (Does that show that I am really old?)  I hope you all had a wonderful New years celebration.  Nothing is better to me than FREE stamps and accessories!  Stampin' Up know how to start the new year off just right, with free product.  If you are new to Stampin' Up, they celebrate you for the months of Jan- March. With every $50 dollars you spend (before taxes) you pick free product from the saleabration catalog. You can even order a subscription to paper pumpkin to receive free product.  This year they are also offering an amazing deal to those who would like to sign up to be demonstrators.

This is such a great deal.  As a demonstrator we were able to preorder the paper and mini paper cutter and I am so happy I did. I love the 6x6 papers and this is such a great selection of the papers from the occasions catalog. The paper cutter is so cute and wonderful for on the go projects as well as to have sitting on my desk and it doesn't take up a lot of room.  And it cuts so clean and straight.  So if you have thought of signing up now is the time! Plus don't forget a stamp set of your choice!  Any set from the main catalog or the occasions catalog (saleabration and hostess sets are not included).  The cost of signing up is only $99 and you get to custom order your kit, with $125 worth of product and that does not include the cutter, dsp and additional set. Let me know if you have any questions. I would love to have you join the Stampin' Up family!

Gift tags

Last week my stamp club meet! How I love to get together with these ladies and one gentleman! They bring me such joy and laughter! I made a little gift for our hostess. I created a few simple tags that she can use on gifts or cards.

I used the holiday haul hostess set because I like the bold images and they make stamping so easy! I stamped a bunch of sentiments for them and then just assembled them quickly.  I think everyone appreciates a little gift even if you use all the scraps and pieces you have on your desk. Amazing how little bit and pieces create beautiful works of art. Love to hear what you create with your scraps on your desk?  Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Blizzard

Even though I live in Southern California now I did grow up in Minnesota and so I know a good ole blizzard when I see one. And my card today looks like a blizzard has hit this group of trees.
I started the card out with a simple white heat embossed image of trees from the winter woods stamp set, followed by ink blending on top to make the trees really stand out.  Then I got the idea what if I used the same colors to blend but using the new tree stencil.

I think this adds some interesting texture to the card, not really sure if it is the look I was going for.  Then I thought why stop there add some water drops to add more texture.  Well they got kinda big as you can see!  Still was not loving the card. So why not add a bunch of white splatter? Couldn't hurt right?

Well all in all I did a million techniques on this card, not sure how I feel other than I love the colors together!  Maybe a few too many things going on.  Let me know what you think of this Christmas card? Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!

JOY!

Just a quick post to show you the card I created today.  I used the beauty and joy stamp set with the bird ballad dsp. I love when I can use paper that is not for a particular holiday and make it work. Even though this is not your traditional Christmas colors I really like the way it turned out!

I would love to hear how you stretch the products that you have. How do you make them work for you and the projects you are working on? I find it such a fun challenge to use what I have.
Thank you for stopping by and have a joyful day!

God's Peace

Isn't this such a beautiful sentiment? Don't we all want to share the peace that we feel from God with everyone we meet? And wouldn't the world be such a better place if all could feel this glow?
As soon as I saw this stamp set in the holiday catalog it was number one on my list. I love all the sentiments!

I embossed this sentiment on vellum with gold embossing powder. I then used my stitched rectangle dies to cut it out. To adhere the piece of vellum I wrapped it around the cardstock I had already stamped and colored.

I added a little wink of stella to the glow around the candle. It is really hard to get a good photo of the sparkle. But in person it is so beautiful!  Thank you again for stopping by and let me know how your Christmas cards are coming along!

Merriest Wishes

How do you like the wintery birch tree scene I made for today!  Lately I have really been into adding "snow" to my cards. I just put a little white reinker on my acrylic block and use a wet paint brush or my aquapainter to sprinkle on. So fun! If I want a few bigger or flakes in a certain spot I use my chalk marker to add a few extra.

Using the script embossing folder I placed a piece of vellum in the folder and ran it through my machine, love how soft it turned out. Vellum can be tricky to adhere because you can see the adhesive behind it. So I used adhesive behind the birch trees and the sequins. This is a great trick for vellum.

The greeting is from the playful penguins stamp set, Isn't it cute on this card?
Thank you for stopping by! I know that you are all busy with Christmas coming closer and closer. So I do appreciate you taking time to swing by. Have a great day! Enjoy the peace of the season!

FREE SHIPPING!

Don't miss out on FREE SHIPPING, WED. DECEMBER 11th with a $50 or more order! One day only! Let me know if you have any questions!

I am starting to work on my Christmas cards. Do you like to make all the same? I really struggle with that. Even if I change a little thing I like to make them all different. So you may see the same kind of card just changed up a little in the next couple weeks.  Another thing that I really like is my Christmas card to have a religious theme to it, after all it is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ!

The first card I made with God's Peace stamp set was very quick and easy.  I am too lazy and try to avoid the post office at Christmas and so I try to make the cards with very few layers so that I can use one forever stamp.

I wanted to add a little bit of color so I added a little white watercolor pencil to the stamped image. The image is stamped with versamark and the sentiment is with smokey slate. What do you think? Is it too light? I would love to know what you think!  Have a great day and don't forget about the big sale tomorrow!

Also last day to order the paper pumpkin for Dec is today! Thank you for stopping by!

The greeting on this card could be used for so many things! So it is a great one to have on hand when I need a card. I stamped and colored this little jug a while ago and so I decided to finally use it. I know I have said it before but I love the jugs in this stamp set, country home. They are really fun to color, watercolor or just stamp plain. The colors in the gather together dsp are so beautiful. Merry merlot was one color that surprised me. I thought I didn't need it until I used it.

I still had a few pumpkins sitting on my desk and so that made my design job a little easier. Do you stamp things, color them and then not use them? I have a little container on my desk with lots of bits and pieces and sometimes it is fun to create cards with those. So today take some of those pieces on your desk and create a card. It feels so good to use them up. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! Enjoy!
