God's Peace

Isn't this such a beautiful sentiment? Don't we all want to share the peace that we feel from God with everyone we meet? And wouldn't the world be such a better place if all could feel this glow?
As soon as I saw this stamp set in the holiday catalog it was number one on my list. I love all the sentiments!

I embossed this sentiment on vellum with gold embossing powder. I then used my stitched rectangle dies to cut it out. To adhere the piece of vellum I wrapped it around the cardstock I had already stamped and colored.

I added a little wink of stella to the glow around the candle. It is really hard to get a good photo of the sparkle. But in person it is so beautiful!  Thank you again for stopping by and let me know how your Christmas cards are coming along!

Country home flowers

Welcome!  So glad you are here! Sometimes I forget that I can just use the flowers from a stamp set and not use the container that they are intended to go in. So for this card I decided to just use the flowers.

I made this card for a stamp challenge but missed the deadline, sometimes life just gets to crazy! I water colored this flower bundle. After it dried I fussy cut it out and used this adorable hello label to anchor the flowers down.

I love the texture that the pinewood embossing folder give to a card and I thought this card needed just a little bit more of something, What do you think? Thank you for coming by! Have a wonderful day!12.01.19_BANNER_PAPERPUMPKIN_DEC_NA

My cardinal and gold penguins

Who doesn't love a cute little penguin? I have loved penguins for as long as I could remember! So when I saw this set in the holiday catalog I couldn't pass it up! These are the cutest little guys with so much personality! I made this card for my stamp club member last week and after I made it I realized they are cardinal and gold penguins. Both my husband and I graduated from University of Southern California and our youngest is a senior there! So when I made this card and saw that I made their scarves cardinal and gold I immediately thought of USC.

Don't these 2 just make the cutest little friends ever? They look like they are ready for a big football game, sporting their school colors. Making a card with extra sentimental meaning is always fun.
Now to get to a few things about the making of this card. One trick I found when stamping the penguins is not to press to hard on the faces because then you lose the detail of there faces.
I wanted to add a little look of snow so I very lightly sponged the new basic pattern decorative mask (dots) with smoky slate. Very lightly is the key. I think it added a little more dimension to the card.

I also added a bow with the polka dot tulle ribbon just because I love all things that match and that matched my dots from the stencil. Also one other tip was I placed both the penguins on my block size E together. So then I was able to stamp them at the same time. That is one of the advantages of having stamps that you take on and off the blocks. You are able to combine and stamp once with a few images.
Thank you for stopping by today and checking out what I have created.
Have a blessed day! Fight On!

So thankful!

Being thankful is such a great feeling! I am so thankful for so many things in my life and when I think about the long list I feel so wonderful! I have been blessed with so much in my life! I think that is why I love to make fall cards because they focus so much on being grateful. One of the things that comes to mind is all the wonderful friends I have made through my Stampin' Up journey for almost 21 years now. And I am so excited about all the new friends that crafting will bring into my life in the future.
When I first saw this set in the holiday catalog I knew it would be on the list of sets to buy. I love sets that have a purpose for more than one occasion. This set is called beauty and joy. Another thing that I like about this set is that it is affordable, selling for only $16 in the US. All of the elements in the set are individual stamps so you can create them in a variety of ways.
This is the first card I have made with this set. I used the fall leaves and cut a few of them out for a little extra dimension. The hardest part of the whole card was cutting tiny pieces of foam dots to go under the itty bitty leaves.
If you are interested in this stamp set or any other from the new holiday catalog or the annual catalog let me know! I would love to have you join me in creating for those you love! I do appreciate you visiting my site and all the love that you send with your comments. Have  a beautiful week and enjoy!

Only a few days to take advantage of this great deal!  Don't miss out!

Enjoy Just Add Ink #472

Isn't technology crazy? My little crafty brain has a hard time wrapping my mind around the whole world wide web (as they used to call it, maybe I am dating myself). The challenge that I submitted today is from  a group of stampers from Australia.  Isn't that just so cool! I am all the way in Southern California! Amazing! I just recently found their website and I am so glad that I did!

Isn't this a fun challenge?  I always love finding new layouts for making cards. I find that I tend to use the same few layouts so frequently. This one was very different then my usual style. That is another reason why challenges are great opportunity to grow.

The flowers I put in this cute little tea cup are from the bird ballad DSP.  I cut out the flowers that were on the edge of the paper and they fit beautifully into the rim of the cup. So don't throw away those little scraps on the ends.  ( Confession. Can you tell that I have a hard time throwing things out?) It actually becomes quite addicting when you start cutting the paper apart.  I have been using these flowers on everything lately. Join in the fun and check out the great just add ink website! Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!  And I would love any comments and letting me know where you are joining me from. Enjoy!

Paper pumpkin and TGIF challenge

Hi Friends!  Today I have finally gotten it together and made a card for the TGIF Challenge. I have been wanted to do this for the longest time but always seem to just miss the deadline. I love to see what the design team comes up with every week!  They are truly talented and I am so inspired by there creations. The challenge this week is to use the new in colors, purple posy, rococo rose and seaside spray. These colors are soft and pretty together. Lately I have made a lot of cards with flowers and so I wanted to wanted to use something others than flowers. The first set that came to mind was the paper pumpkin stamp set.

I think the beach images are so cute and so I wanted to use them all. I white heat embossed them on the 3 in colors card stock.  I used 3 strips of crumb cake to make a sandy beach. Using another stamp from the paper pumpkin set and then using the subtle embossing folder to add some texture.  It is kind of hard to see this from my photo.

I framed my sandy beach with the crumb cake designer series paper in the neutral colors. I really enjoyed the challenge this week and I am so glad that I gave it a try. Also, I have made my photos bigger than past posts.  What do you think? Is it too big?  I would love any comments you have. Have a beautiful rest of your week and enjoy!

Happy 4th of July!

I hope that you are having a great 4th of July! Today's card is not red, white or blue. Sorry I did not have time to make a card for the holiday.  But I did make this card and wanted to share it with you. It is a very simple card and like I have said before, sometimes I think simple looks best. Since I have been coloring in many different forms for the daily 30 day coloring challenge I have had lots of images to make into cards.

This image is from the inspiring iris stamp set. I colored it with stampin blends and it was so quick and easy. I used the new rococo rose color. I love this color! I love the color pink and this one is really nice, not too bright, not too light it is just right!

The other thing that I say is a must buy in the new catalog is the new designer series paper. This card was made with the neutral pack but I think you can't go wrong with any of the color combos. I just used one side and the other to make this card. The designs are so pretty and simple that they do not over power your card but enhance it in just the right way!  So order a pack today! Have a beautiful and safe 4th of July! Enjoy!

Baby in Blue

Who loves to cuddle a sweet little baby in a cozy blanket? I sure do! This little baby is so adorable all snuggled up in his blue blanket! I will be so sad to see this set retire. I have had so much fun stamping and coloring it.

And who can resist adding that precious little bear hat, not me!  I used my stampin blends to color all these images. I thought that the polka dots in the neutral designer series paper went well with the dots on his blanket and I used the coordinating other side to break up the card front. For the congrats greeting I glued 3 layers together so that it gave it more dimension and stood out more. The layout for this card is very simple and you can use so many different stamp sets that you have. Sorry this post is so short. Since I had skipped so many days I thought I would just share another quick card I had made today! Have a great day and enjoy!

One more dog

Happy Tails to you!  Is it just me or does this make you sing the song "happy trails to you"? Every time that I say the name of this set in my head I start to sing the song. It is the cutest little bundle! The set comes with a photopolymer stamp set, which makes stamping the dog and the house so easy. They both have extras that you can stamp on top for a 2 step stamp look. You can give the dog spots, dark areas, a collar and a few other things. The dog house has the outline of the house as well as the individual lines to show the wood texture. We made this card at my stamp club last month, and when I was coming up with designs I was trying to decide which dog house color I liked best. I decided to use the cherry cobbler one that is in the front.  What do you think? I used my versamark ink pad on this card for many things, for the dog paw on the strip in the back, for the markings on the dog and for the paw and heart behind the saying. I love how this ink pad adds just enough of an accent to the images. I went with a pretty easy layout for this card. I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Dog pile

Do you ever stamp a bunch of one of your favorite images and then just color? I do this all the time and I am sure that I have asked you this before. I love the adorable little dogs in the Bella and friends stamp set. The images are so cute and so fun to color. They make great cards for any occasion and for both males and females. Just recently I finished coloring  a few of the images and decided that I should make them into cards. I also had a bunch of scraps on my desk and so I decided to make dog cards with my scraps.  The first card is pretty simple. I used the stitched shape framelits to frame the dog, mounting it on a scrap of neutral designer paper, and mounted it all on early espresso cardstock. I had just the birthday part from the thinlit and so I used the happy from the sunshine wishes stamp set to complete the greeting.

For this card I had another scrap from the neutral designer paper with a circle punch out and then I realized after I cut the dog with the stitched shapes framelits that it fit perfect!  Don't you love when that happens!  I used the saying from the happy tails stamp set from the occasions catalog. If you do not have this set you need it!  The dog is adorable and the greetings are so cute. They also offer a punch that if you purchase the bundle you can receive 10% off. I white heat embossed the greeting on the basic gray card stock and cut apart to adhere seperatly. This card came together so quickly and I think is came out really cute!

Don't forget that there is less than 3 weeks to take advantage of the Free saleabration items. If you would like to order or have any questions please feel free to contact me.  Have a great day!
