Mini paper pumpkin box of cards

Hi stamping friends! Welcome and so glad that you are here today. I finally had a chance to create a gift box with the mini paper pumpkin box. They are so adorable!  I used the whale done bundle to create cards and the box. Between the dspembossing folder and stamp set this was so quick and easy to make.

I only made 5 Stampin up notecards  with matching envelopes yet, there was room for twice and many. I think this would be really cute with some tea bags and so candy as well.

I have taken a picture of each of the cards. Notice how the paper is so cute you do not need to do much.  And the paper  design is perfect for small cards.

The sentiments in the stamp set are versatile enough that they make a great pack of cards.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create a collection of cards with the stamp sets you have. They make great gifts!

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the starter kit promotion.

Whale Done!

Hello and welcome to my blog! I wanted to share with you a fun card that I created with the whale done bundle. You will want all the goodies in this bundle. For this card I used the whale of a time dspseabed embossing folderwhale done stamp set and punch. The card was simple to create and the only stamping that I did was the greeting.

The whale was from the dsp and I just used the punch to cut it out. The bubbles above the whale are also from the punch. I did use shimmery crystal effects which I found very hard to photograph, sorry. It adds a beautiful shine and dimension. Thank you again for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend!

Evergreen Forest Embossing Folder

Hello! I am so glad that you are here!  Today I have made my first Christmas card for the season. I really wanted to play with the evergreen forest 3D embossing folder . I tried one of my favorite techniques with the embossing folders, rubbing in on it before putting card stock in and running it through the die machine. This time I also sprayed a little water and used watercolor paper. I really love how the water moves the colors around. And let me just say this embossing folder is beautiful! I was also excited to use the snowflake splendor dsp. Wow, if you like water color and snowflakes this paper is so amazing! I love every piece and every side of this paper.

Here is a close up of the card. I also added wink of stella to the trees for a little shimmer. It is really hard to get a good picture of the shine. For the greeting I water colored a scrap and when it dried stamped from the greeting from for unto us stamp set. I always love a beautiful spiritual greeting for Christmas and this set has so many gorgeous stamps! Have you made any Christmas cards yet? I really want to start and create some fall cards. I love the color palette for fall. I just wish it was starting to feel like fall in Southern California. I long for a little cooler weather. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed rest of your week!

Making a Porthole

Hi Stampers! So glad that you are here! Today I said a prayer for all those who gave their lives 19 years ago in 9/11  and to all the people who lost family members on that day. With all the turmoil in our country lately I think that it is important to remember when we came together in solitude and return to that place in our hearts. I know we can do it, starting with all of us!

My card today is my attempt to make a porthole with the shaped stitched dies and the whale of a time suite.

I apologize for the picture, with the fires in Southern California we have had a smoke layer that is covering our sun and so my pictures are turning out a little darker than usual. I started with using the shaped stitched dies for the porthole shape and then used the same for the piece of whale of a time dsp. I fussy cut out a few of the sea animals to add to the scene.

Then I adhered a few sequins, covered the entire piece with a circle of window sheet. It was really hard to get a picture so that you could see the sheet.

For the rivets I used pearls that I colored with bronze stampin blend. Stampin Up does carry metallic pearls but I didn't have any and so I had to improvise. I mounted it all on in good taste dsp for the look of the inside of the boat. The foam adhesive strips worked great for the round shape of the window. This was such a fun card to make. Thank you so much for stopping by and I pray that you have a blessed day and weekend!

Hi stamping friends! Today's card uses the whale done stamp set. I have to believe it is one of the most popular stamp sets in the new catalog. I finally broke out the embossing folder that coordinates with the set. It is so cute and I am thinking of so many more uses for it.

This was a very quick and easy card. The base of the card is balmy blue and the images are stamped in balmy blue, pool party and calypso coral. Using the stitched shape dies in different sizes and the sentiment is white heat embossed with the stitched so sweetly dies, cut out. This card would be fun with so many different color combos.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you come back soon! Blessings!

Direct to paper technique

Hi Everyone! Can you believe that it is the last day of August? Not really sure where the month went but it went fast! I am really looking forward to fall and cooler days. I also love all fall colors and so I am excited to play with all the fall products, colors and then to start working on Christmas cards! Have you picked a favorite Christmas stamp set yet? I am getting a little ahead of myself.
For today's card I had so much fun playing with direct to paper technique. I had forgotten about this until I saw a video that Kristina Werner had made a beautiful card using this technique. If you are not familiar it check out her video. For my card I used the tree stencil and a few of my small ink pads that I had from some of the older paper pumpkins. I think the technique works great with the small cubes ink pads.

I started with a piece of white card stock and placed the stencil down, gently swiping the ink across the openings on the stencil. I started with the lightest color. When I switched to the next color I let it over lap a little to get some mixing of color. So fun! If you have a hard time with your stencil moving you can sponge on some multipurpose liquid glue on the back, wait for it to dry and then it will be a little tacky and will stay in place. But you must let it dry or it will stick permanently.

I am not sure why I had the little dots at the ends of the trees branches. I think that the ink kind of soaked up a little drop at the end if that makes sense. After it dried I stamped with ridiculously awesome stamp set in black ink and then cut out with the stitched so sweetly dies. I popped that up with foam dots to make it really stand out.
Thanks for stopping by, give this technique a try. It is really fun and I can't wait to make another card with it.  Also check out Kristina's cards and her fun capsule project. Have a great Monday! Stay healthy and thankful for all your blessings!

Whale done candy pocket

Hi stampers! Quick little gift idea with the whale done bundle. I scored a piece of white card stock around a piece of candy and made a little matchbox covering for it. I am sorry I do not have the dimensions for it, but I plan to make more and so I will get those to you at a later date. After I made the wrap for the candy I cut a little piece of the whale dsp to fit the top half. I stamped a whale and punched him out including his adorable little spout. I stamped the greeting on the bottom and then stapled it before adhering the greeting so that I could hide the staple. This was a fun treat to make and I think that it is so adorable. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

I did it!

Hello! Well I did it! I cut up my whale of a time dsp. It was a little scary but I am so glad that I did because it made such a cute card. This card started with a piece of fluid 100 water color paper and I used the wide water painter to add stripes of several of the different blue colors. Then when it was dry I spritzed some of the white ink refill on the paper.

I used the stitched shape dies largest circle to use for the background for my whale. I wanted to keep him a little neutral and so I stamped him in basic grey and then using the whale punch, punched him out.

I stamped the greeting and using the so sentimental dies cut that out. It fit perfect! Don't you love when that happens! I added a few of the holiday rhinestones, which went so nicely with the colors of this card. They are so much more than just holiday.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I look forward to more ideas with this wonderful suite! Have a blessed day!

Whale done!

Hi! Thank you for stopping by today! I have really been on a color journey lately. Today's card is really an example of that. I finally had a chance to play with the whale done stamp set. I have to tell you I was a little intimidated with all the wonder ideas out there with this set. Does that ever happen to you? You love a set and then get it and then because you have seen so many people using it you are nervous yours will not be as good or you don't want your card to look like someone else's? So I just did the opposite of everything that I had seen and used bright bold colors. I did not use any of the dsp because I love every piece and don't want to cut it up. But I will!

I grabbed a few of the brights colors and just started to stamp. As you can see some of my stamping was not the best. Remember when using the photopolymer stamps you will want to stamp a few times on scratch paper and rub your finger across it to get it ready to stamp. Not sure why they suggest this but the ink does go on more smoothly.

After stamping the images I stamped the greeting in black ink, I think that stood out nicely.  All in all I think this card is really fun. I will continue to play with the set and try and not look at all the amazing projects out there.  Social media can be a good thing and a bad thing. Let me know what you think of this card? Have a blessed day and go be bright and bold!
