TGIF Sketch Challenge #368

I love a great sketch challenge and so I just had to play along with TGIF sketch challenge for this week. I do have to admit that my card was created with mostly scraps. I was creating another card with the paradise palms bundle  (10% off ) the other day and I just couldn't throw away this watercolored piece. So I made it into a card. Using a piece of the horizon designer series paper behind the die cut piece. (This paper will not be around for long, so get it now!) If you have missed the paradise palms bundle take another look.  The dies and stamps are amazing, like the vanilla hatch type strip on the card, not really sure what you would call the shape but I love it. And it fits the card length perfect on an A2 size card. The sentiment is white heat embossed on orchid oasis, which is the same color I watercolored the palm tree. For today I think this is my favorite new incolor, check back tomorrow to see if it changes, haha.

A few other products I used were the gingham embossing folder, and had to finish the card off with a few iridescent rhinestone jewels. I am serious obsessed with these jewels! They shine and take on every color around them.
Make sure to check out the amazing talent over at the TGIF challenge blog! Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today and don't forget not to throw away those beautiful scraps.  Create a card with them!

Kindness Changes the World

Hi stampin friends! I love a great sentiment! Many stamp sets I purchase it is because of the sentiments. What about you? The here for you has such meaningful sentiments! (the images are equally as beautiful) (You can purchase the bundle for a 10% discount.) This bundle is only available until the end of May so order now. For this card I combined it with the uniquely artistic stamp set. I gold heat embossed the large branch on watercolor paper and used bermuda bay and rich razzleberry ink to color. After it had dried I went in with a little smokey slate to make the image pop. The stitched rectangle die is what I used to cut the image out.

Keeping with the gold theme I added a line of gilded leafing on rich razzleberry cardstock. To adhere the leafing I put a line of multipurpose glue along the edge, let it dry just a little (until tacky) then rubbed the leafing on. I forgot about how fun this stuff is! For the background I used the stitched greenery die. Gold heat embossed the greeting and highlighted a few of the words with watercolor pencils and my blender pen. Finished it off with a few brushed brass butterflies. Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have any questions let me know. Let your kindness change the world today and everyday!

Sending a Card to Say Hello

Hello! Do you like to use solid stamps, ink and water together? That is the technique that I used for this card. Stamping on a piece of shimmery paper I inked up my sending smiles flowers and leaves and then applied water with my water painter to the stamp before stamping.  Depending on how much water you apply the image will be different every time. I splattered soft succulent ink over the entire piece when it had completely dried.
For the top of the card I used the stitched greenery plate on soft succulent cardstock and then cut the piece with basic border dies. This edge really gives a beautiful, soft look to the edge. Keeping with the soft succulent I die cut the sending dies. You can purchase the bundle for a 10% discount! I finished off the card with a few of the brushed brass butterflies

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you are inspired to try this technique!

Totally Awesome Waves

Hello stamping friend! A fairly easy card for today with the waves of inpiration bundle. I couldn't wait to try and white heat emboss this huge wave and it did not disappoint! To really make it pop I used my blending brushes with balmy blue, coastal cabana and pacific point inks. Trying to concentrate the darker colors where the waves curls over. Since I already had the versamark, white embossing powder and heat gun out I embossed the sentiment on balmy blue cardstock and used one of the cute dies from the bundle. I also die cut and tucked in a few clouds. Did you notice the gray layer on the clouds to add the shadow, such fun dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope this card has inspired you to make a fun and quick card.

Fern 3D Embossing Folder

Happy Tuesday! This 3D fern embossing folder is so beautiful! It is a must have, I hope you don't get to tired of seeing it on all my cards. This card I wanted it to be the star so I used my blending brushes and old olive, pear pizazz and mossy meadow to apply ink. I ran it through my stampin and emboss machine with the fern folder after all the ink dried. Isn't it just stunning? I added a little spatter with my white ink refill and my water painter. The sentiment is from the new sending smiles bundle. Another must have! Love the images, sentiments and the dies.
To add the ink to the flower I first stamped with balmy blue and then with a sponge dauber applied a little starry sky (new incolor) to the edge. For the flower center I stamped off the balmy blue. I finished off the card with a few iridescent jewels
Thanks so much for spending your time here. If you have not received a catalog yet let me know and I will mail you one. Have a great day!

Uniquely Artistic Thanks

Hi stampers! Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there!
In the uniquely artistic stamp set I think that this fern looking stamp is my favorite! I love the way it stamps, so crisp and clean. So I used mint macaron, soft sea foam and old olive. I stamped each one a few times without reinking to get a depth of color. I like that this gives me so much more use from my ink pads. The sentiment is from the amazing thanks dies. I watercolored with the same green colors on a piece of watercolor paper and then after it dried I die cut it. Then I did an inlay technique to adhere to the basic white stitched rectangle die. If you are not familiar with inlay, it is when you die cut one piece and place the another different piece in its place. Such a fun technique.  I really like to do this with flowers.

So glad that you stopped by today! Stampin' Up has so many wonderful promotions going on right now. Don't miss out! See below what is happening! If you have any questions please let me know. If you have not received a catalog let me know and I will send one out to you right away. Have a blessed day!

For this card I white heat embossed the large wave stamp on the tahitian tide and then added a basic white die cut layer on top. This die set has 2 very cool wave dies.

I also die cut a few of the birds, adhered them with multipurpose glue and then I cut the wave apart as well as the sentiment. I wanted to give the wave a feeling of motion and so I adhered it at an angle. I think this gives it a fun look. Hopefully it isn't making anyone sea sick:)

For today's card I created a fun wreath with the uniquely artistic stamp set. This set has a few little stamps and I really wanted to try creating a wreath. I started with a piece of basic white cardstock that I lightly traced the largest circle from the layering circle dies. Then I picked the colors I wanted and randomly stamped around the circle.

To finish it off I added a linen bow a few iridescent jewels, basic pearls, and glued 3 of the "thanks" together from the amazing thanks dies. I like to stack them so that they really pop off the page. I used the stitched greenery die for the base of the card. If you do not have this die, you have to get it! I really hope that Stampin' Up releases more of these. Love this die!
