Hand Stamped Sentiments #434

Time for a Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge. This was a fun yet challenging sketch for me. Sometimes I take sketches so literally and I have a hard time just letting my creativity flow. So I challenged myself to just create and I came up with 3 cards that are loose interpretations of the sketch. 2 of them are watercolor backgrounds and one is ink blended. Not sure which I prefer. What about you?

I used the Beach Day Bundle for all of my cards and the clouds are from Waves Dies.
For this card I used the Fluid Watercolor Paper and did a wash of colors for the background. I used a few scraps of watercolor washed paper for the die cuts and the greeting is from Rustic Crate Stamp Set

This card was the ink blended card. I used the Blending Brushes to create my background, die cut the palm tree and clouds from cardstock and white heat embossed the greeting and ink blended that to make it pop. I used the Online Exclusive 1-3/4" punch to cut out.

For the last card I used a little different color palette for the watercolor washed background and again used a few scraps of watercolored paper for the die cut images. The greeting is white heat embossed on Basic Black Cardstock and I used the same 1-3/4" punch. Finished it off with a few gems.
Let me know if you think that my take on the sketch. I am so excited to see how you interpret this sketch! Please join us and submit your card today!

Hot Air Balloon

How beautiful is the Hot Air Balloon Bundle ? I love not only the stamps but also the dies! For the large balloon I die cut it out with Berry Burst Cardstock and then used a Blending Brush to apply ink around the edges. The center decorative piece was from some leftover watercolor paper that had a wash of Berry Burst Ink and water.
I combined them with the Radiating Stitches Dies for a quick lift you up card.
The Basic Border Dies were used to create the fun clouds in the background. I just die cut one of the clouds with Basic White Cardstock and then used that as a template. I used Blending Brushes to lightly apply ink. I used several different blues and then finished the top clouds off with Berry Burst (sorry it is really hard to see in the picture). I finished the card off with a few of the Online Exclusive Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins.

Waves Of Inspiration

Hello! Here is another fun card that I created with the color challenge from yesterday's Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge. To remind you the colors are Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana. They give me a beach vibe and so I reached for the Waves Of Inspiration Stamp Set and the coordinatingWaves Dies. I love to ink blend with Blending Brushes and so that is where my card began. I used the Crushed Curry and Flirty Flamingo for the sky and sprinkled a little clean water to give the background a little texture. For the wave I used a piece of Fluid Watercolor Paper and spritzed it with water and then dropped in Coastal Cabana Ink and let the water move the ink. After it dried, I used the dies to cut out. I carefully kept all the pieces together and added a little sticky tape to the back so that the pieces would not fall out. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere to the background. For the greeting I stamped with Flirty Flamingo and used one of the Waves Dies to cut out, tied a little White Bakers Twine on the ends and adhered with Stampin Dimesionals.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you missed the card I created yesterday with the same colors check that out. Also, a reminder that the new Online Exclusive items are available. Check them out in my page here! There are some fabulous items!

Hand Stamped Sentiment Challenge #433

Hello! Time for a Hand Stamped Sentiment Color Challenge. For the card today I picked the Reach For the Stars Bundle. I think it is fun to take an image and create with colors that are unexpected. Such a artistic freedom. I used Fluid Watercolor Paper and White Heat Embossed the rocket and then used a water painter to apply clean water. I dropped in the 3 challenge colors, placing the Crushed Curry next to the Coastal Cabana. The Coastal Cabana has a tint of green and so when I swatched out the colors on a scratch piece of watercolor paper, the Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana did not mix well. But I knew that yellow and green would mix well so I put those 2 colors next to each other.

I used the dies to cut out the rocket and used Dimensionals to make it stand out more. I also used the Basics 3D Embossing Folders with Coastal Cabana Cardstock for the layer behind and Radiating Stitches Dies for the Basic White Cardstock layer. I finished the card off with a few white stars.
I am really excited to see what you create with this color combo. Have fun and thank you so much for stopping by. Make sure to visit tomorrow because I have another fun card that I created with this color combo!

Global Design Project #434

The sketch at Global Design Project is one I really enjoyed. I used the Easter Lilies Bundle for my card. I stamped the images with Memento Black Ink, colored with Stampin' Blends then used the coordinating die to cut out. For the sentiment I white heat embossed on Basic Black Cardstock. When I was laying out the images I found that if I cut a few of them apart it created the layout that I was looking for. I cut apart and only used the leaves from the stem stamp and also the 2 closed buds stamp. I really wanted a few small leaves near the large lily and I wanted both of the bud to show. So don't be afraid to cut apart your stamped images after you have stamped and colored them.

For the background I stamped off the large fern and net-looking stamp for a subtle look. I finished off the card with a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels  ( can't live without these!) and Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins. After creating this card I think I need to take a flower arranging class. I never feel like I can confidently arrange the flowers to an eye pleasing arrangement. But I gave it my best shot!
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #624

I love the new sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches, I had not used the Taco Fiesta Stamp Set in a while and so I combined that with the Basic Border's Dies. I stamped the images, colored with Stampin' Blends, fussy cut and mounted them on a piece of  2" circle punched Basic White Cardstock.

The background Basic White Cardstock Embossed with the Basic's 3D Embossing Folder.
I used 2 of the sentiments from the stamp set and white heat embossed them on Tahitian Tide Cardstock.
Thanks for stopping by today. Sorry the pictures are not the best, I had a hard time getting the colors to photograph well.  Have a great day!

Hand Stamped Sentiments #432

So excited to share this beautiful inspiration challenge with you from Hand Stamped Sentiments. There is so much goodness from all of these pictures. I had a hard time deciding which one to guide my card. I liked the cookies and so I thought about creating cookies with the Hot Air Balloon Dies. Not really sure they look like cookies but I love the way the card came out. There was a lot of die cutting and gluing to create this card. I die cut all the "icing layers" 3 times and glued them together to give dimension. I used Very Vanilla Cardstock for the cookie base and ink blended a little Crumb Cake on the edges to look cooked.

For the base layer I used the Radiating Stitches Dies (online exclusive item).  A little splatter of Black Ink on that panel to break up the solid Crumb Cake Cardstock. Alphabet A La Mode for the "LOVE" and also stacked that 3 letters high each. Finished it off with a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Gems and a little Wink of Stella Glitter.
I am really excited to see what you are inspired from these pictures! Make sure to share over at Hand Stamped Sentiments! Thanks for stopping by!

TGIF Challenge #460

As saleabration comes to a close, I feel like I have not used all of the product enough. So the TGIF Challenge was perfect because it inspired me to pull some of the items out. I created a night time scene for the toucan from the Jungle Pals Stamps and Dies. I stamped him in Memento Ink and colored him with Stampin' Blends and then used the die to cut out him out and the tree. For the tree I wanted a highlight so I die cut it with Early Espresso Cardstock and Crumb Cake Cardstock, slightly offsetting them when I adhered them together.

I used a piece of Stargazing DSP for the scene and the sentiment is from the Reach For The Stars Stamp Set. The other 2 layers are Basic White Cardstock with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder and the It's In The Stars Background Stamp, which I clear embossed on Night Of Navy Cardstock. Then a used a White Ink to make the embossing pop.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget that there are only a few days left to order and receive FREE saleabration items.!

Global Design Project #432

What a beautiful card to CASE from Global Design Project designer Elodie Ventroux. I liked how simple her stunning card was and so I kept my card clean and simple as well. I used the saleabration Softly Sophisticated Bundle. This bundle comes with a 2 step stamp set which I used for the focal point. I used the Reach For The Stars Dies to cut the circle around the flowers. Using the embossing folder in the bundle and a piece of Bubble Bath Cardstock I created the side panel. After I ran it through with the embossing folder I used a Blending Brush to apply bubble bath ink to the edges.

The Stitched with Whimsy Dies were used for the border she used around her card with her dsp. I stamped the sentiment with Bubble Bath Ink and tied a bow with Baker's Twine. I finished it with a few Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins. Don't miss out on the last week of saleabration and order today! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
