Distressed Sunflowers

Hi! I am back with another fun card with the celebrate sunflowers. Today my coloring was done with my watercolor pencils, however I did not use water, I just used them to color. I stamped with my black momento ink on daffodil delight card stock. I did not spend a lot of time coloring, just enough to add a little dimension. This stamp is so beautifully drawn that it didn't need much. The artist made it so easy for me to color by just using the lines that they used.

I went in with my white chalk marker to add a few highlights. Doesn't that really make it pop even more?  The next part was really fun, I want to distress the card and so I rubbed crumb cake ink on the inside of the old world paper embossing folder and ran it through my machine, but I wasn't done there.  I tore the bottom edge and then sponged with more crumb cake ink.

The greeting is white heat embossed on early espresso card stock. I had so much fun making this card. I hope you enjoy it also. Have a blessed day and please leave a comment below. I would love to know if you like this card. Have a blessed day!

New InColors

Hello! Just a quick post today to share with you a quick card I created with the new incolors. I have not gotten the ink pads, markers or blends yet so I thought I would play with the paper.  It all goes together so nicely! I used the flower die from the wild rose die set. Using the old world paper embossing folder on white paper behind the flowers I thought added a little texture.  This embossing folder is really fun.

The sentiment is a quick white embossed from the celebrate sunflowers stamp set. Thank you so much for stopping by! I really appreciate coming by. Have a blessed day!

Watercolor Sunflowers

Welcome! Today I have put away my stampin blends and decided to give a little watercoloring a try with the celebrate sunflower stamp set.  I am still working on my watercolor skills and this was a great stamp to practice, nice and big.  I started by stamping the large sunflower with staz on ink on watercolor paper. I masked the flower with a post it note to stamp the leaves.  To make a mask just take a post it note, stamp your image, cut it out and then place it down and you are ready to stamp. Remember that you stamp first what you want in the front and then everything that goes behind.

I used my ink refills and a paint brush to color the images. I let it dry between layers to build up the color. If you don't let it dry the colors all blend and for this image I wanted the colors to be more distinct.  After I was done with the flower I decided to try and put some clouds behind.  This is my first time trying to make clouds. I got the idea from watching Kelly at You and your big dreams.  She has a great video on creating clouds ( and hers are 100% better).

The greeting is again from the A grand kid stamp set. I am telling you, love the sentiments and also all the fonts. A tip when stamping on watercolor paper, use your stamparatus or any type of stamp positioner that you may have. To get a nice crisp image you will probably have to stamp a few times.
Thank you for stopping by today and I hope that you learned something from my card.

Know that you are loved!

Good day to you!  Happy Friday! Can you believe it is the middle of June already? Since I have had so much time lately with the stay at home in order I have been really enjoying coloring the large sunflower from the celebrate sunflower bundle. This set not only has beautifully drawn sunflowers but has great sentiments. I really like the fonts that the Stampin' Up artist used. The card I created today is one of those amazing greetings.

There are so many people I can imagine giving this card to. After stamping the image with momento ink on ivory card stock I colored with light/dark mango melody, light daffodil, light/dark calypso coral,light/dark crumb cake, light mint melody and light/dark old olive. The greeting is white heat embossed on black card stock and fussy cut around it.

I used the subtle embossing folder after using the stitched rectangle dies to create the frame.  I also added a gold leaf from the forever fold laser specialty paper. I am really excited to use more of these. They are gorgeous!  Thank you again for stopping by! I would love to know which set you love from the new catalog.  Have a blessed day!

Smaller Sunflower

Hi! A quick post for today. I am still really into the celebrate sunflower bundle. Today I gave the smaller sunflower a shot. It is so cute and is really quick to color.  I stamped with momento ink (need to use this when coloring with stampin' blends). I colored with light and dark daffodil delight, light and dark crumb cake and light and dark sea foam. I used a mask to sponge crumb cake ink for a background. (I did not realize that this was retired but you could use any mask you have). I heat embossed the sentiment from the set with white embossing powder.

Did you notice the clear drops? They are from the flowers for every season gem pack. I am going to be using these a lot! Love them! I kept this card pretty simple. I hope you enjoy it! Have a blessed day!

Celebrate Sunflowers!

Hi stampers! Thank you for joining me today. I am finally sharing one of the new stamp bundles that I ordered from the new annual catalog. I am having so much fun with celebrate sunflower bundle. Today's card is a simple one layer card. I started by stamping the large sunflower with momento ink so that I could color it with my stampin' blends. I used a combo of light and dark daffodil delight, dark mango melody and light calypso coral. The center I used dark and light crumb cake and bronze. After I finished the coloring I thought that this looked like it belonged on a stem and so I used a sharpie to draw a stem, stamped the large leaf and colored both with light and dark mossy meadow.

Another new set that I just ordered was a grand kid. Even if you do not have grandchildren (which I don't yet-waiting for August!!) this set is amazing. So many positive and wonderful sentiments. I stamped that with my early espresso ink and added a few holiday gems for a little pop of bling.

I had such a relaxing time coloring this image. I am officially hooked on the set, as you will see in the next couple of days. I have been so busy trying different color combos. I look forward to ordering the new blends that just came out in the catalog.

One more thing to note, the background for my photo is the new in good taste designer series paper.  Isn't it gorgeous! I am so excited to use it on cards but for today it made a great background for my card. Thank you for stopping by. If you would like to receive a annual catalog leave a comment and I will get one out to you right away.  Have a blessed day!
