Gather together for GDP #208

I am really into the fall cards right now and so when I decided to join in the new global design project challenge I had to use the gather together bundle. This week is was CAS(E) the designer.

Isn't this card adorable created by the super talented Krista Frattin and what a fun design to play with. I sure hope that I did her original justice.

I used my blends to color this leaf all the beautiful colors of fall. I really think that fall is my favorite season. Also take a look at the detail in the smaller leaves, isn't it gorgeous!

I went with a light watercolor wash for the background and then added a few extra speckles with the dot stamp in the set. I couldn't resist adding a few of the new holiday rhinestones when I saw that they have pumpkin pie as one of the colors.

Hope you are finding time to make a few fall cards! I would love to know what sets are your favorite! Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed and beautiful week! Enjoy!

Clean and Simple

This is just a quick little post for a quick little card. Very clean and simple.  Sometimes I feel like I have to add so many embellishments to make a card pretty and pleasing to the eye. For this card I kept trying to add so many different things, yet it never looked just right. So I decided to keep it simple and I love the way it turned out!

I started by cutting the leaf out with the die from the gather together dies and sponged the edges. I stamped the greeting from the stamp set. Using my new stencils (which I love and am so excited they came out with more!) I sponged the background, ran that through with the subtle embossing folder. Added a little piece of copper ribbon and that finished this card! Don't get me wrong, I love to spend time creating a card with lots of elements but sometimes it just calls out to be clean and simple.  Have a blessed day!  Enjoy!

What color pumpkin do you like?

So what color pumpkins are your favorite? I love the soft colors of these ones that I made with my mint macaron and crumb cake stampin blends.  And can I say how much I LOVE this new stamp set, gather together from the new holiday catalog! I love that it has pumpkins and fall leaves. I have so many ideas running through my head of what to make, I can't make them fast enough. Do you ever get so overwhelmed with new things and then don't know where to start.

Well, I am excited to share with you the ideas that I have been coming up with!
This card I kept pretty simple and I had to much fun creating. Let me know what element you like best? Of course I love the pumpkins but I am really enjoying the wood plank on the die from the stitched labels dies. It adds to much texture and I am all about texture especially for the fall.  If you do not have a copy of the new holiday catalog let me know and I would love to send one out to you. Thanks for visiting my site! I really appreciate the time you have taken to check out what I have created. Plus, I really would like to know what color pumpkins you like? Enjoy and have a blessed day!

Harvest Blessings!

Do you love the fall colors?  I love them all! To me they all just bring a warmth to my heart!  Maybe it is because it reminds me of all the time I will spend with my family during the holidays! How about you?
For this card, I used a great combo of pumpkin pie, so saffron and cajun craze. They all go together so wonderfully! When I was looking up fall leaves on google this was the most common color combo so I decided to try it out with my stampin blends. This leaf is from the gather together bundle in the new catalog. What an amazing bundle it is!

I love that you can stamp the leaf and then use the dies to cut it out or if you would like just cut the out line of the leaf out.  So many possibilities for this stamp set. I have a feeling it will be a big seller.

Let me know what your favorite fall color combo is?  If you have time leave me a comment below. I would love to hear from you! Thank you for visiting my blog and have a happy harvest blessing! Enjoy!

Versatile Flowers!

For todays post I wanted to share with you how many looks you can get from the to a wild rose stamp set flower! I have taken many photos so I hope you enjoy them. I used the same layout for all the cards so that you can focus on the different flowers.

I have included 2 close ups of every cards.  Let me know which one you like the best?

My biggest decision was trying to figure out if I wanted to use the same style leaves as the flowers. I thought just to even simplify the card even more that I would use the same style leaves, but I think it would be really fun and add some extra interest to switch up the leaves.

For the center of the flower I used vellum. I really like the way it just melts into the flower.

I did make one other change to the card design by using different words on the old olive panel. I stamped the words with versamark so that it was a nice subtle look.

This stamp set has so many wonderful images and I love that you can use them seperately or layer them. When you have a set that gives you all this then the possiblilties are endless with all the different looks you can get from one stamp set.

Which sets do you find are versatile in the new annual catalog or the holiday catalog? Let me know. Leave a comment below. I hope to share some of the versatile stamps sets in the holiday catalog soon! Thank you for stopping by and I hope to hear from you! Enjoy!

CAS(E) this sketch! #338

Just a quick post today. I joined in on the fun over at the CAS(E) this sketch challenge. They have a really cute sketch and I love what the design team has done to showcase it! I used the lilypad lake stamp set. I also used one of the color combos that Stampin' Up gave us in a list of great color combos. If you would like the list let me know and I send it out to you.  The color combo I used was pool party, pacific point and mossy meadow. This was a huge stretch for me because I would not use these colors together. But I love how it turned out.

Click here to check them out!

Give this fun sketch a try. Have a great day and thank you so much for visiting my blog! I would love if you left a comment! Thank you! Enjoy!

Fab Friday #171 Sketch

Fab Friday has a great classic sketch for this weeks challenge and I love the designers take on it.  It is amazing how everyone sees something different when they look at a sketch. I knew when I saw it that I wanted to use one of the layers with the long flower die from the wild rose dies.

I also couldn't help using a piece of the bird ballad dsp, my favorite dsp right now. But we will see if that changes when my holiday catalog order arrives. I am so excited to see all the fun new papers I ordered. If you have not received a holiday catalog let me know and I will send you one! You will love all the fabulous items!

Give this fun sketch a try over at the fab Friday site today! Enjoy and have a beautiful weekend! Thank you for visiting my blog and come back soon!

Global Design Project #205

Do you ever feel like you get in the same color rut?  I do and so when I saw the color challenge over at the GDP I decided to give it a try. Color challenges have always scared me. I am not really sure why. Maybe because sometime it is a color combo out of my comfort zone. So I am really excited that I did this one.

                                                                Check out their blog!

I used stampin' blends for my coloring of these adorable little birds, in what I like to call the highlighting technique. I stamped the image with momento black ink then die cut it with the stitched nested labels. Then I used the smallest of the circles in the stitched shapes die for the center part. As you can tell I was really into all my stitched dies, I also used the largest rectangle for the mint macaron layer.

Not really sure that there are birds this color in real life but since it is my work of art I took liberty of creative license on this one. Make some time this weekend and give the color challenge a try.  It also helps to pull you out of creative ruts. (Which I also have been having lately)
Keep in your prayers all those affected by hurricane Dorian!  All those in the Bahamas that are without there families and homes. Also to all those on the East Coast of the US I am keeping you in my prayers for safety! It is times like these that I am so grateful for all the family and faith that I have. God bless you all!

Few days left to order your scary halloween goodies!  Don't miss out!

It's September!

It's September and you know what that means? Time for the holiday catalog to go live, which means you can order from it! I am so excited to share ideas using the new sets that I have ordered. But that will have to wait just one more day or so because I have been busy with my mom who had cataract surgery. But I do have an fun card to share for today that I made a few weeks ago.

So many of the designer series paper in the annual catalog are so beautiful that you do not need to do much to make them into a card.  I think my favorite is the bird ballad designer series paper. The artist created it with stampin' blends and how amazing is every sheets.

I love the soft look of these small birds.  So sweet and peaceful!

Along with beautiful paper this suite also has a beautiful stamp set with the most amazing sentiments! Not only are the fonts great but the sayings are so inspiring! Who wouldn't love to get a card that thanked you for being the person that you are? Everything in this suite is a must have in your stamping goodies!

I also paired this card with the stitched label dies. I think it adds just the right amount of texture without covering the entire piece of card stock. Enjoy your first day of September and let me know if you would like a holiday catalog.  Now is the time to start with your Christmas cards or if you like to create a few fall goodies! Enjoy!
One more thing to note, that I used the Mossy Meadow card stock left from the card I used.
"Spooky" how quick Halloween will be here before we know it!

Let me know if you have not received a catalog yet!  You will not want to miss out on these adorable items!
